In July 1941 the Saltupers (4 persons in total) were killed not far from Vecružina village.

After the war, in the 1960s, local inhabitants reinterred the victims in Ružina Cemetery and erected a tombstone with an inscription in Russian: “Here rest the Saltupers – husband, wife and 2 children, ruthlessly killed by fascists in July 1941”.
